Marcasite
Marcasite is dimorphic with pyrite. There is a certain distribution of marcasite in mostly artificial outcrops of the Jura and its foothills. Mineralia was able to acquire spherical marcasites on slate rock from an old collection from the quarry Böttstein-Leugern, AG. To our knowledge, these specimens are absolutely unique. The quarry is no longer in operation and accordingly no such material is found today.
