Needle Quartz

As the name suggests, needle quartz has a long-stalked to needle-like habit. In extreme cases, the length is up to 50 times greater than the diameter. The main locality in Switzerland is certainly the Val Bedretto. Almost even more beautiful needle quartz is found in the continuation of this valley in the Val Formazza in Italy.
