Azurite

Azurite

Like malachite, azurite is a basic copper carbonate. It is found in Switzerland mainly in it’s coarse form as a weathering product of the oxidation zone in copper-bearing deposits.
An exception are small specimens from Filisur-Davos GR. The intensely coloured azurite specimens stand out in any collection of exclusively Swiss minerals.
